Some 800 Vietnamese and foreign artisans are displaying more than 4.000 items at the Spring Flower Fair 2006, which was opened at the Tao Dan Park on January 24 and lasts until February 5.

This year’s spring fair has introduced new and unique products such as cactus trees, a nearly 100-year-old carambola tree from Vinh Long Province, big apricot blossom trees of up to 6 meters high, hundred-year-old ornamental trees and others.

Unique products will be auctioned on the closing night and broadcast live on HTV9. All proceeds will go to HCM City Television fund to help the poor.

Because of bird flu, the pet bird exhibition and contest will not be held this year. Instead, there will be performances and contests of pet dogs every day from January 25 to February 1.
